Summary
Scarlett is a Water-element MR Resonator in Echocalypse: Scarlet Covenant. Unlike supports who stay safe in the back, Scarlett works best on the front line: she takes hits alongside other frontliners, answers attackers with Hypothermia, and unlocks the hard control of Thermal Collapse once stacks are full. This guide compiles her kit from the official CN announcements (including the Frenzied Prelude event), the official CN creator guide, and the per-star coefficient tables of the JP community wiki — with max-level numbers and details that still need SEA-client verification clearly flagged.

Her gameplay loop in short: Sensory Link reduces the damage your front line takes, every trigger applies Hypothermia to the attacker, high Hypothermia stacks open Thermal Collapse, and her Critical suppresses the highest-ATK enemy with Restrictive Control. Effect names in this guide are working translations from CN/JP/ES sources — official client naming may differ.
Lore: The Bifrost Weaponsmith
Scarlett comes from Bifrost (Rindong). Before she was known as a performance-equipment crafter, she made weapons and provided production support to the military. Her work was highly valued, yet she treated it as nothing more than a livelihood. To design effective weapons she studied anatomy and how the body senses pain — her knowledge was deep and her work precise, but weapons work never satisfied her personal longing to find something that truly made her happy.
She eventually left military weapon manufacturing for crafting leather performance tools and specialty props. There her creativity and personal interests finally had room: she designs equipment with great attention to detail and earned a reputation as an independent crafter. Her profile presents her as confident, teasing, and fond of audience reactions, while JP community readings distinguish that work persona from her everyday self — outside performances she can still talk calmly and consider other people's requests. The JP community wiki also notes that Scarlett makes props for the Chimera Circus group and appears around the stories of MR Caroline and Akilia.
Core Mechanics
Sensory Link
When Scarlett and another frontliner are hit by the same attack, the damage to both targets is reduced and the attacker receives Hypothermia. Front position is therefore crucial: standing in the front row makes her share attacks with other frontliners far more often — the link's trigger condition — while also letting her use her self-heal, damage reduction, and passive rescue mechanics. Ideally she is not alone up front; pair her with a durable partner such as Lyora.
Hypothermia and Thermal Collapse
- 1 stack: suppresses the enemy's Elemental Damage bonus by about 15% (certain effects can stack up to twice).
- 3 stacks: suppression rises to 30% and the enemy's SPD drops by 15%.
- 5 stacks: Thermal Collapse — the enemy takes 30% increased damage and is Frozen (cannot act).
- While Collapse is active, additional Hypothermia applications can deal 200% ATK bonus damage; the status does not keep stacking.
- After Frozen ends, community transcriptions mention True DMG of 30% Max HP, capped at 600% of the caster's ATK.
Scarlett's Kit
Scarlett's four skills form a defensive cycle that debuffs enemies while preparing protection for allies. The per-level numbers below come from the JP wiki's text tables; each star row shows the highest skill level opened at that investment point.

Basic — Painful Education
Scarlett strikes the enemy front row with her water whip, restoring 25 Pneuma and 2 tuning/gauge for herself. The attack is more than a hit: at higher levels it opens a damage window for Clara, Sana, and other Water carries.
- Lv1 (0★): 166% ATK Water Physical DMG to the front row; self-heal 15% Max HP.
- Lv2 (unlocks at 1★): 183% ATK; self-heal 18% Max HP. No Water Damage Reduction debuff yet.
- Lv3 (unlocks at 4★): 244% ATK; self-heal 23% Max HP; target's Water Damage Reduction −15% for 3 turns.
- Lv4 (unlocks at 6★): 296% ATK; self-heal 30% Max HP; target's Water Damage Reduction −25% for 3 turns.
If you do not have Basic Lv3 yet, do not rely on Scarlett as your source of Water resistance shred.
Active — Blissful Punishment
Her core defensive skill, and the source of Sensory Link and Absolute Pleasure. Every level hits the front row and restores 50 Pneuma.
- Lv1 (0★): 380% ATK; self-heal 22% Max HP. Sensory Link is not listed in the JP Lv1 text.
- Lv2: 440% ATK; self-heal 30% Max HP; Sensory Link for 3 turns with 22% mitigation; the attacker receives 1 Hypothermia.
- Lv3: 560% ATK; self-heal 35% Max HP; Sensory Link 26%; gains 1 stack of Absolute Pleasure (15% non-active & abnormal damage reduction), maximum 2 active effects.
- Lv4 (unlocks at 6★): 650% ATK; self-heal 40% Max HP; Sensory Link 30%; Absolute Pleasure blocks 25% non-active and abnormal damage per stack (maximum 2 active effects).
The 3★ breakpoint is not only a coefficient increase: it is the point where Sensory Link is explicitly listed in the Active description according to the JP wiki — the reason she becomes far more reliable as a frontline support from this star.
Passive — Threshold Control
Passive Lv1/2/3 unlock at 0★/1★/3★ according to the JP wiki, but the Lv1 and Lv2 texts are incomplete there — so the 0★ details are not treated as the full form. CN analysis rates 3★ as the point where Threshold Control becomes properly usable. Documented high-level effects:
- Survives at 1 HP upon taking fatal damage, then recovers and releases a Shield.
- Each Thermal Collapse event: Scarlett's DEF +5%, up to +50%.
- Cumulative 5 Collapses: an extra Critical on the highest-ATK target not under Restrictive Control; maximum twice per battle.
- Gains 1 tuning gauge when conditions are met, according to CN analysis.
Fatal-damage prevention does not make Scarlett invincible: it has a trigger cooldown, enemies can damage the rest of the team, and special shield-piercing effects still need testing on the live patch.
Critical — Restrictive Control & Safety Word
- Lv1 (0★): 570% ATK Water Physical DMG to the highest-ATK enemy; Restrictive Control for 2 turns; enemy Elemental Damage −20%; each Critical landed by that target applies 2 Hypothermia.
- Lv2 (unlocks at 2★) and Lv3 (unlocks at 5★): their full numbers and effects are not listed in the JP wiki, so this guide does not guess them.
- Lv4 (7★, max-level transcription): 980% ATK; dispels up to 4 buffs; Restrictive Control suppresses Elemental Damage by −35%; enemy Criticals can trigger additional Hypothermia.
- Safety Word (CN max-level analysis): Scarlett grants the back row Safety Word for 3 turns. When the shield of a unit with this effect expires, Scarlett sacrifices about 10% of her current HP to set up a Shield worth 500% of Max HP; if the recipient is Water, the Shield becomes a Water Shield.
Star Comparison: 0★, 3★, 5★, 7★
- 0★ — Entry utility: Basic Lv1 166% (self-heal 15%), Active Lv1 380% (self-heal 22%), Critical Lv1 570% with basic Restrictive Control. The catch: Sensory Link is not listed on Active Lv1, so the team frontline mechanic is not mature yet.
- 3★ — Reliable frontline: Active Lv2 unlocks Sensory Link (22% mitigation) and the Passive reaches Lv3. A sensible starting point if your goal is strengthening PvP with a Water frontline and Hypothermia.
- 5★ — Stronger mitigation: Active Lv3 reaches 560% ATK with 35% self-heal, Sensory Link 26%, and Absolute Pleasure starts adding 15% mitigation per effect. Critical Lv3 opens at 5★, but its full text is not documented in the available wiki.
- 7★ — Complete ceiling: Basic and Active reach their maximum levels (both actually max out at 6★) and Critical Lv4 adds Safety Word, buff dispel, carry suppression, and backline shield recovery. This is an analysis ceiling, not a requirement for every account.
Investment: When to Stop
CN community guides conclude that 3★ is already viable as a Tank/Support, while 7★ offers more complete backline protection and enemy-carry suppression. That judgment belongs to a Water team context, not a guarantee of superiority in every mode. A 3★ Scarlett without strong partners can still lose momentum quickly; a formed Water team, on the other hand, will use Sensory Link far more consistently.

| Situation | Decision |
|---|---|
| Water team not formed yet | Prioritize the core composition and overall durability first. |
| You already own Clara and Lyora | 3★ can be a functional target; then test actual performance. |
| Regular PvP and lacking backline protection | 5★–7★ makes sense if budget and resources allow. |
| More focused on PvE boss races | Test whether a defensive slot beats extra DPS; a 7★ Scarlett is not automatically faster. |

Weapon Joy, Oath, and Radiance
Scarlett's exclusive weapon is named Joy in SEA — its CN name 欢愉 (Huan Yu) means Pleasure/Joy, and the SEA announcement uses "Joy", so do not treat "Pleasure" as the official SEA name. According to CN evaluations, the weapon is useful at 0★ and stronger at 5★: the CN description emphasizes recovery of up to about 30% of lost HP at low HP plus increased healing in critical condition, while the Rank 8 augment grants a healing bonus of up to 50% when HP drops, under its conditions. During the Frenzied Prelude event, players can also earn the SR version "Prototype Joy" from tasks — its stats sit slightly below the MR version, but it can still activate Scarlett's resonance skill.
Her Oath outfit is Romantic Departure. The Oath Skill reported by the CN community grants Scarlett 4 tuning/gauge at battle start and a permanent +20% Water Elemental Damage bonus — its biggest value is the chance to fire her Active earlier. CN analysis also mentions a Radiance/Glory effect raising Scarlett's Elemental Damage Reduction by +25%, making her tougher against element-based opponents; check the Radiance unlock conditions on your server.
Build & Positioning
Scroll to see every column.
| Strategy slot | Stat priorities |
|---|---|
| Main Tank | HP%, DEF%, Final DMG Reduction — lets Scarlett survive bursts and repeat her heal/critical cycle. |
| Water frontline | Elemental DMG Reduction, Heal Received — maximizes area mitigation and self-heal. |
| Control support | Survivability first, then patch-appropriate utility — so Sensory Link stays active long enough to build Hypothermia. |
| Late-investment hybrid | ATK after defensive needs are met; high-investment Safety Word protects the back row. |

CN analysis recommends a front formation of 1. Scarlett, 2. Lyora, 3. Baiying: Scarlett often takes the same attacks as the other frontliners so Sensory Link can reduce the damage, while her Critical is aimed at the highest-ATK carry — its damage matters, but it is not her main job. The official CN infographic shows recommended modules and Links, but the small set names in the source image are not sharp enough for 100% accurate transcription, so this guide does not name modules speculatively.
Water Lineups
A. Water/Earth — the CN infographic recommendation
Front row: Scarlett, Lyora, Baiying. Back row: Clara, Sana, Crimsonfall Caroline. Five units connect to Water, with Caroline as an Earth flex providing additional pressure. Check synergy and matchup resistances before copying this formation wholesale.
B. Water core + flexible sixth slot
Front row: Scarlett, Lyora, Baiying. Back row: Clara, Sana, flex Support/DPS. If you do not own Caroline, replace the sixth unit with your most ready carry or support — do not force a non-Water slot if it costs the team its defensive function.
C. Mid-investment shell
Front row: Scarlett, Lyora, frontline flex. Back row: Clara, Sana, Water or off-element carry. For a 3★ Scarlett, focus her roles: second frontliner, healing provider, and carry suppressor — final positioning needs testing against enemy formations.
Clara is the standout Water Coordinator synergy in the CN sources. If you already run another Coordinator, do not field two Coordinators in the same Coordinator slot.
Rotation & Limits
- Opening: if the Oath is active, use the starting tuning to put Sensory Link on the front line immediately. If not, make sure Scarlett survives until she can fire her Active.
- Frontline shared attacks: let area/front damage trigger the Link to reduce the shared hits and apply Hypothermia to attackers; avoid compositions where a single unit eats every attack alone.
- Control the carry: aim Criticals at the highest-ATK enemy; at high levels use the dispel and Restrictive Control to strip the enemy carry's tempo.
- Late rounds: sustain through self-heal and passive effects; at maximum upgrades, Safety Word protects the back line under its trigger conditions.
When is she less ideal? In encounters demanding fast clear times, an extra defensive slot can slow the kill. Enemies that target the back line separately, block healing, or bypass Shields also make her Link and protection less than absolute.
Verdict
Gacha verdict: highly relevant for Water/Clara players who want a thick front row, Hypothermia control, and backline safety — but not mandatory for every player. If your Water roster is not built yet, a functional 3★ Scarlett is usually a more rational priority than chasing 7★ without support. Scarlett does not have to be your damage dealer; use her mechanics properly and she becomes a wall that punishes every attack aimed at your front line.
