Neville at a Glance
Neville is a Wind support unit. Rather than dealing damage himself, he improves the team's skill economy: his own skills consume no Gauge, he shares his Gauge pool with Wind allies after upgrades, he raises Evasion, and he disrupts enemy targeting. He does not use the Coordinator slot — in a Wind team, Stheno can take the Coordinator seat while Neville fills one of the six character slots. This differs from Rafaela (Earth Coordinator) and Clara (Water Coordinator). Neville's official SEA name is Neville; the JP transliteration is Nivelle. He belongs to the Bifrost Logistics Department, carries the MR weapon Return Journey, and wears the Oath outfit Flickering Glow. His chapter event, Ripples of Life, ran in SEA on October 1–16, 2026 (UTC+8).
Lore — Ripples of Life
Neville lost both parents in an avalanche as a child and was rescued by Bifrost logistics personnel. The loss left him with guilt — he keeps imagining whether the disaster could have been prevented had he been more careful — and forged his calm, precise, reliable persona: in logistics, a small mistake can cost a life. Behind the cold impression, those close to him know a shy, caring person who loves listening to stories. His passive's name, Weight of Life, reflects his fear that a helping hand might one day arrive too late. In Ripples of Life, Neville's friend is struck by Echo Crystal Erosion, a condition threatening Rafaela; unwilling to lose anyone again, he secretly travels to Canaan in the Augustus region to find the doctor Rafaela. The treatment reportedly requires eleven high-quality precious crystals, and the event's central statement is that a life should not be measured by a price tag. The ending of his friend's story is not guessed here, as the available sources do not confirm it.
Complete Kit
Basic Attack — Tailwind Sword Dance (working translation): skill levels Lv1 at 0 stars, Lv2 at 1 star, Lv3 at 4 stars, Lv4 at 6 stars; JP sources note a 25 Critical Value recovery on the 4/6-star versions. A high-level CN summary lists 157% ATK Wind Crystal DMG to the front row, a 20% Elemental Hit reduction on the target for 3 rounds, and a Tailwind buff to three random allies (Tailwind: +10% ATK, Elemental Hit, and Elemental Critical per stack, up to 3 stacks). Low-level damage values are not available on the JP page, so the CN summary must not be read as 0-star skill text.
Active Skill — Wind-Guided Course (working translation): Wind AoE with a 2-round cooldown. Lv1 (0 stars): 126% ATK and restores 50 Critical Value. Lv2 (3 stars): 160% ATK and applies Lost Navigation Beacon to one backline enemy for 2 rounds — the marked target has a 25% chance to be hit as an additional target when an enemy triggers an Active Attack, splashing 35% indirect damage to its neighbors. Lv3 (5 stars): 186% ATK, a stronger Beacon, +20% Evasion for allies adjacent to Neville and an extra +20% for Wind. Lv4 (6 stars): 200% ATK, Beacon chance and splash rise to 50% / 50%, and Evasion becomes +25% with an extra +25% for Wind.
Passive — Weight of Life: at 0 stars, Neville's skills consume none of his own Tuning Gauge or Critical Value. At 1 star (Passive Lv2), while Neville is alive, Wind allies can use Neville's stored Tuning Gauge / Critical Value — the breakpoint that turns him into a Wind battery. At 3 stars (Passive Lv3), all Evasion bonuses allies receive gain an additional 25% according to the JP text; whether the client applies this as a percentage-point addition or a multiplier should be checked in game. Sharing is not free Gauge for everyone without conditions — actual use depends on action order, Gauge state, and each unit's skill priority.
Critical Skill — Snow-Guided Return (working translation): 2-round cooldown. Lv1 (0 stars): 190% ATK Wind AoE and enters Silent Prayer Voyage for 1 round — while active, Wind Evasion can also apply against removable debuffs — and when the state ends, he strikes all enemies again for 190% ATK. Lv2 (2 stars) and Lv3 (5 stars) raise the level, but their detailed numbers are not yet transcribed on the JP wiki. Lv4 (7 stars): a high-level CN guide reports 326% ATK AoE twice, Headwind Stall for 2 rounds, and HP recovery plus a Shield for the three lowest-HP Wind allies after the state ends; exact sub-effect behavior on SEA needs client verification.

Breakpoints worth considering: 1 star opens the Wind Gauge share — the foundation of his battery role. 3 stars is the utility sweet spot with the Beacon and Passive Lv3. 5 stars adds positional protection through Active Lv3. Do not skip 6 stars when reading the numbers: Active Lv4 (200%, 50%/50% Beacon, +25% Evasion) already unlocks there and carries into the 7-star kit. 7 stars adds Critical Lv4 as a ceiling, not a universal requirement.
- Survivability first (HP, Armor, Resistance, Damage Reduction) — Neville's value collapses if he falls before the team can use his sharing.
- Evasion / Elemental Evasion — for control setups: teams that survive but keep eating debuffs gain the most from stacked Evasion.
- Return Journey weapon — its abilities (CN names: Wind Guidance and Fearless of Cold) grant extra Tailwind to three random allies on skill use and help against buff removal; upgrade the weapon after confirming the team will use his kit long-term.
- Positioning — keep him in a safe back row; from 5–6 stars, consider placing him adjacent to the ally who benefits most from his Elemental Evasion buff.
Battle Emblem and Fusion references from CN list Claw, Adaptation, Heavy Armor, and Resurrection variants mainly to raise durability; Fusion items such as Blood Crystal Cloak and Energy Devouring Blade appear as Evasion setup options. The SR Prototype Return Journey was a CN event reward with lower stats than the MR version that can still activate Resonance — do not assume the same rewards or schedule on SEA. The Oath outfit Flickering Glow was officially announced for CN and SEA in the same event, but Oath Skill stat details could not be verified from the available kit sources, so no fictional Oath bonuses are added here. Link bonuses (CN guide): Scarlett grants Neville ATK +18%, Tesicca Armor +18%, Asuri Resistance +18%, and Sana + Clara Max HP +25% when the combination requirements are met — validate names and conditions on the SEA client.
Recommended Lineups
- Full Wind / Evasion — a Wind core with Stheno as Coordinator alongside Neville, Tesicca, Akilia, and other Wind units such as Nana, Lilian, or Eriri Windstrider; maximizes the number of units receiving Gauge sharing and Evasion buffs.
- Wind Core + Flexible Defense — 4 Wind + 1 Water + 1 Fire; more flexible, but fewer Wind units receive the sharing than in full Wind.
- Mixed Wind-Fire Control (CN template) — 3 Wind / 2 Fire / 1 Water, combining Scarlett's survivability, Neville's Wind utility, and Fire pressure.
Stheno is the Wind Coordinator; Neville does not use the Coordinator slot, so the two complement each other. These are editorial templates based on the JP wiki's Wind roster and CN formations — adjust front-row slots to your roster's durability and verify the server's Coordinator limits and anchor mechanics.
Verdict
Neville is strongest in long fights beside Stheno and a formed Wind core: 0 stars is an introduction with sharing still locked, 1 star is the Wind battery breakpoint, 3 stars is the reasonable utility sweet spot to test, 5 stars adds protection, and 7 stars is a ceiling for committed Wind rosters. He is weak into fast burst if he falls before his utility works, loses part of his value against control-immune bosses, and offers far less to non-Wind rosters. This is an editorial evaluation, not an official tier rating.
